TODAY’S COFFEES

TODAY’S COFFEES roasted in San Diego on 6/2/25:

ON 30 MAY, BUONA FORCHETTA RESTAURANT in Golden Hill was attacked by armed men, presumed to be federal agents, who captured and absconded several staff said to be undocumented workers. The armed agents were successfully harried by locals, enraged at the kidnappings, especially after the armed men flung flash-bang grenades among the patrons of the restaurant. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries and police arrived on scene to protect the armed kidnappers and restore something that looked like order.

ESPRESSO recommends that all houses of hospitality of whatever sort invest in CO2 fire extinguishers. These hefty steel bottles discharge gas that can freeze plexiglass masks worn by some kinds of malefactors and cause immediate, debilitating injury to the unprotected. The heavy steel bottles, especially when swung by the hose, can also negate the kevlar armor worn by uniformed delinquents and in some cases amplify the effects of sudden shocking impact. Other useful tools used by some cafes in the past include super soakers filled with mixtures of vinegar and ammonia, to which pepper solutions derived from crushed chilies may be added. A whiff or two of such solution is very likely to turn the tables on aggressors of every kind.

No one should dread terror inflicted by tax-funded employees of any government agency and it is the right of every American to defend themselves and those they care for with effective tools that will cause malfeasors second thoughts. Hit the sons of bitches where it counts. Good luck and God bless you.
